(RAD: It is obvious that Alastair brings a wealth of insights to help us understand what is really happening in the world today. Pay close attention to his discussion about the economic models that are competing in the world, especially the Chinese model. He discusses the ramifications of the differences between how AI is being developed in China vs US. The US is focused on huge centrally-controlled AI data centers where it is questionable whether they can ever be effective & profitable. The US approach also starves small businesses.
The Chinese have focused on AI solving practical challenges in manufacturing & things relating to everyday life of the citizens. The AI tools are free to use. He gives an example of a manufacturing plant that used to employ thousands of people, yet now with AI it employs hundreds & the costs have decreased, which means more sales.
Russia wants a water-tight security architecture for Europe that addresses the "root causes" that led to the SMO in Ukraine. Russia wants NATO defeated, since it was a primary cause of the SMO in Ukraine. But Europe wants Russia defeated. Of course, Europe & the US don't have the resources to defeat Russia.
Trump's 2025 National Security Strategy wants to eliminate all external influences in Latin America other than the US. This could result in major conflicts, since China, Russia, Iran, and other BRICS countries are already heavily invested in Latin America. This is what is behind Trump's conflict with Venezuela, not the drugs or energy. — RAD)
