(RAD: Over my lifetime, I've had a lot of questions & observations about why various people do different things with their lives & what motivates them to do so. Alex Krainer's insights has taken this discussion to a much higher level & he provides a framework that makes a lot of sense. He digs deep into the eschatological & Armageddon hole and explains how it helps make sense why certain groups of people do the things they are doing.

He then goes on to illustrate the difference between those people who are self motivated, versus those who are motivated by things like power & money where they can be 'bought' to do things that might not be moral. He has also observed over the last few years the large number of military 'accidents' that have gone wrong, like the plumbing on an aircraft carrier malfunctioning, fires, ships colliding, etc. When competent people at the lower levels realize that they can't buy into the missions anymore, they can't really refuse to follow orders, yet they might not do it exactly as was planned. Iran says the Isfahan operation was a failed attempt to seize nuclear material; Washington describes it as a rescue of a downed F-15 crew member.
