(RAD: As many of us have come to realize, the United States doesn't play fair & often breaks agreements & treaties when they don't serve the US by those in power. The US often has a complete disregard for the other parties in those agreements & treaties, thinking that the US can do whatever it wants. This is another example of many broken agreements & further illustrates why the US isn't trusted & often not liked. — RAD)

The West often portrays itself as the defender of a “post-war rules-based international order.” But in reality, it broke those very rules almost from the beginning. In 1951—just six years after the end of the Second World War—the Treaty of San Francisco delivered the first major blow to the international order the West claimed to build.

This video breaks down how the treaty:

  • Violated the 1942 Allied pledge of collective peace
  • Excluded China despite its role as a major victorious power
  • Ignored Japanese war crimes and left reparations unresolved
  • Created long-term territorial disputes over Taiwan, the Kurils, Sakhalin, and Dokdo
  • Invented the concept of “residual sovereignty” to justify U.S. control over Okinawa
  • Reinforced colonial-era power politics under the guise of legality
