China flips nuclear sanctions upside down: now Western regulators are banning Chinese nuke tech

(RAD: China is now building far more fission nuclear power plants than any other country. Around 10 new reactors have been approved by the Chinese government each year since 2022, putting China on track to overtake the United States and become the world's largest generator of nuclear power by 2030. There are no nuclear power plants under construction in the US today.
Other resources have pointed out that electricity production in the US has been flat for the last 25 years. We have no significant projects for changing this. Our electric grid is already maxed out in many parts of the country. The push for massive artificial intelligence server farms need lots of new energy, which we don't have available. On the other hand, China already has excess energy and continues to bring lots more online, so this will not be an issue for their AI programs. — RAD)
Exports of Western nuclear technology and equipment to China are under heavy sanction by Western governments.
The Chinese nuclear industry responded by building an ecosystem and supply chain that is almost entirely domestic, and self-sufficient.
This was shocking even to top Western experts, who now concede that China's nuclear programs are best in class, while the industry is stagnating in North America and Europe.
Consequently, China's universities for nuclear engineering now lead the world.
China also seems to have broken the "Cost Escalation Curse" that typifies power projects elsewhere. Chinese firms build new plants far more quickly, and at far lower price points, than were believed possible.
China is now exporting reactors, technology, and talent to friendly countries, while Western regulators are closing off its access to more affordable and faster Chinese tech.
