75 Years of NATO Expansion in One Picture

(Take a close look at the above map and you can easily see how NATO continued to expand eastward up to the Russian border, even though there were high level agreements that this would never happen. To make matters worse, NATO keeps putting aggressive weapons right on the Russian border. After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Russia of today has had no plans to invade Europe, contrary to propaganda from NATO & the West. For a long time, the West has been using Ukraine as a battering ram against Russia in an attempt to dethrone Putin & break Russia up. No matter how Putin tried to resolve this serious issue diplomatically, the West wasn't interested. To make matters worse, Ukraine was killing ethnic Russians living in Ukraine. — RAD)

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was established by the United States in 1949 as a "collective security" bloc.

NATO has experienced nine waves of expansion since it started with 12 members (United States, United Kingdom, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal), with previously non-aligned Sweden joining the bloc on March 7, 2024.

Although NATO casts itself as a purely defensive bloc, history has shown otherwise.

This alliance was established to deter alleged Soviet expansion, yet after the end of the Cold War and the dissolution of the Soviet Union, NATO did not cease to exist. Despite promises given to late Soviet leaders by the US, NATO proceeded to expand eastward and encircle Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently admitted that he had a “naive idea” that after the end of the Cold War, the West and NATO had “no basis for confrontation with Russia”. However, after years of diplomatic efforts, Putin became “100% convinced” that NATO strategists want to “collapse Russia”.
