Alexander Dugin: Trump, Russia, China, American Hegemony, Panama, Canada, Greenland

(This is a very important observation from Alexander Dugin. He is considered the top philosopher in Russia and possibly in the world by many. Putin follows Dugin. — RAD)

We need to take Trump's statement very seriously and not underestimate the new changes he wants to introduce in international relations. It would be irresponsible for the Russians and Chinese people to treat his remarks as empty words that will not be implemented. This is very serious. We need to understand that these decisions are made after thinking. There is something in the American leadership that we did not know before.

If we only predict the future based on what we know about American politics in the past, we will be in trouble. Therefore, we need to re-examine and rethink all our perceptions of American politics. Because the situation is different, today's American politics is so new and at the same time hidden traps, and it is obviously necessary to re-evaluate all this.

First of all, let me say it directly: I think Trump is serious about his claims on Panama, Canada and Greenland. He wants to reorganize, reshape, and reshape the current American hegemony, no longer based on the perspective of left-wing globalism or left-wing liberalism, but to the perspective of right-wing liberalism or right-wing capitalist hegemony, which has not been the case in the past decades.

Therefore, we need to see Trump's claims as a manifestation of the pure hegemony, nationalism and imperialism of the United States as a nation-state. Unlike in the past, Trump is not seeking to expand territory or global influence through war. When Trump said he was going to take over the Panama Canal to remove China from control, he was serious and we should think about what he said. China is not the point in this matter. The point is that the globalist mindset of "the world belongs to everyone" is gone, and the globalist attitude has disappeared without a trace.

In Trump's eyes, China has always been a competitor. I would even say that China is his number one enemy and competitor in the world. In the eyes of globalists, their biggest enemy is Russia. That's why we, Russia, have been under pressure from the West under the control of globalism. Now, we, Russia and China, will enter a completely different international system. The biggest impact will be directed at China, its assets in the United States, its economic interests and its financial system.

Therefore, we need to change our role in the face of Western hegemony. Russia was once a victim of Western hegemony and the target of fierce attacks under the leadership of previous Western governments, but China came to Russia's aid when Russia was under Western sanctions, which played a vital role in maintaining Russia as an independent geopolitical entity. We are very grateful to China and will always be grateful to China. This is very important. It was China that saved us when the West imposed severe sanctions on us and gave us time to fight back.

But I have to say that China has not yet fully joined our resistance to the West. Although China was also subject to restrictions and sanctions from the West when it helped us, in fact, the extent of these sanctions was not so severe, and the cost of helping us was still within China's tolerance. Faced with similar situations, Moscow will also make the same move to help China out. We can see that China helped us, but not to a large extent. In my opinion, this help is undoubtedly crucial, but it is not so extreme that it exceeds some bottom lines.

The conflict caused by the Taiwan issue is inevitable in my opinion, and Russia will definitely help China on this issue, there is no doubt about it. But China seems to be a little hesitant, whether to take action or not? And who will also lend a hand? Russia will bear the same price to support China.

With the arrival of Trump, China has become the main target of Western hegemony, and the Trump administration will launch a new round of suppression against China. And for example, like Mearsheimer, I had a fruitful conversation with him on the media platform of a Chinese friend before, and scholars like him have not taken this new route of the United States seriously.

The United States now believes that it has an obligation to counter China's rise, so it has taken a series of measures to sanction China, weaken China's influence, cut off all initiatives related to the "Belt and Road Initiative", and completely deny and abandon the "win-win strategy" and "global community of shared future for mankind" that it had previously proposed. Now all these globalist discourses will be completely denied and abandoned by the United States.

China should be prepared. You are now in the same situation as we, Russia, were in at that time. Now you have become the number one enemy of the Trump administration, and India will become a weapon to suppress you. For this reason, India's importance in global strategy is rising. The Trump administration will support India militarily, politically, diplomatically, and economically to confront China. There is no doubt about this. I think China's assets in the United States will be in great danger.

Therefore, all of Trump's claims are absolutely serious. China should take Trump's ideas seriously, and we need to strengthen the Sino-Russian strategic alliance, which is particularly important this time. Because in the Trump era, the United States will bring us Russians a very serious dilemma: Russia will either stand on the side of the United States or on the side of China. There is no neutral position. You were in a similar dilemma, trying to find a neutral position: supporting Russia without completely cutting off from the West. Seriously, Russia will do the same thing. I prefer a stable Russia-China alliance.

However, despite my clear pro-China stance, many of my views are still difficult to accept or even understand in China, even my pro-China remarks. This sends a very sad signal, which shows that China is somewhat hesitant on this issue, unsure whether to recognize and accept Russia as a strategic partner.

Therefore, Russia will now face the same problem as China did at that time. And I hope to take a step forward and truly establish a geopolitical and ideological alliance between Russia and China. But I think the difficulty this time is that China will inevitably be under great pressure from the West, and Western influence has penetrated your society: liberalism has destroyed the family structure, and even in China's big cities, many young people are facing the problem of not being able to afford children. Liberalism, imperialism, all these Western influences have crossed the ocean and entered your society.

Therefore, we must fight Westernization together. I hope that my words will be heard more in China this time, and this will be an important symbolic move for China. However, as a staunch supporter of the Russian-Chinese alliance, I think there is no room for neutrality or hesitation this time, let alone retreat.

So, either we work together to create a multipolar world against the West, or we wait for the Western hegemony to continue to play its imperialist tricks and defeat us one by one through "divide and rule".
